Photograph for About Jim Scott Photos. (c) Jim ScottWelcome to my view of things!

My eye is drawn to many different areas like decaying buildings and machinery, vintage cars and workboats, live music performances or nighttime city life. I try to keep my subjects varied and shoot outdoors for the most part.

In addition to being an amateur photographer, I’m also a part-time musician and reside in Northern California’s East Bay area.

Recently, I obtained a Multimedia/ Digital Imaging degree from Diablo Valley College. I have also taken several photography classes at Berkeley City College and RayKo Photography in San Francisco.

Back in the 70’s, I started off in photography with a borrowed Pentax 35mm Rangefinder, later moving up to several different SLR’s, and now shoot strictly digital.

My favorite toys of the trade consist of a Nikon D80 and sometimes a FujuFilm S9000. Lenses include Sigma 50mm f1.4 and 10-20mm f3.5 wide angle, along with a Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5.

Additional knowledge in PhotoShop, LightRoom, and RAW processing helps me to achieve the results necessary to further express my vision.

Thanks so much for visiting.
